Venture capital funding in the triangle continues to grow. Over $53 million was raised by local companies from venture-capital firms during the third quarter of 2012 in the triangle, this is after only $30 million being raised by startup and early stage companies from Venture Capital Firms in the Raleigh Durham Region up to this point in all of 2012.
A somewhat troubling sign in the data is that the over $80 million raised so far this year in venture-capital in triangle is the lowest amount raised to this point in over 10 years. This article is based in part on data from PricewaterhouseCoopers and provided to the N&O. (http://bit.ly/S1p5Ff)
We at the Barnes Law Firm are excited to see these new numbers, Venture capital funding throughout the rest of the country has been down in the third quarter. We feel this is a sign that the triangle is, and continues to be a great place to start and grow a company.
Many companies that the Barnes Law Firm works with are in need of funding in some way shape or form, raising Venture Capital in Raleigh and Durham can be the ideal solution, but only if it makes sense for the particular company. We have developed resources for companies looking for groups that can provide funds, including a list of Venture Capital Firms, and a List of NC Angel Investment Groups.
